Current Events
Thank you to everyone who has supported the Recycled Fashion Show Contest over the past four years. The annual event (2006-2009) has generated sold out audiences by offering a humorous and entertaining way to talk trash. We will not be hosting the typical "Recycled Fashion Show Contest" runway production in 2010, but never fear. Just like anyone else experiencing challenges (or opportunities we like to call them) in the economy, we are getting creative and presenting smarter. Plus it's our 5th year anniversary so it's time to bring you something new and fresh to celebrate. Please check back soon for details on 2010 events and activies. In the meantime if you are an artist looking for trashion opportunities, looking for internships and volunteer opportunities or would like to support us through sponsorship or donation, do get in touch. |
The Recycled Fashion Show Contest
Junk to Funk Recycled Fashion Show Contest is a runway production in Portland, Oregon aimed to change the way people look at what they buy and what they throw away. We do this in a most unique way; in an open call for artists, creatives submit works of wearable art and couture fashion based on the creative use of “trash". These garments have then been showcased in an eclectic and often humorous production. |
